Arvada Music Lesson FAQs

Nope! Bands are open to any student in the area. Some of our band members study with us and plenty of others come from a different teacher or their school program.

While every group is different, enough to get around their instrument and learn a song. They don't need to read music or play fast. If you're not sure where they land, give us a call and we'll talk through what they can do (even if they have no experience!).

Ages 7 and up. Most of our band members are somewhere between 8 and 16, and we group kids by age and skill so nobody's in over their head or bored.

Once a week, same day and same time. Rehearsal length depends on age. Younger bands run shorter so the energy stays high, and older groups get more time to dig into the material.

A DRMS teacher coaches every band. They run the room, help the group choose songs, sort out everybody's parts, and get the band ready to perform.

Guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocals make up most groups, and we've worked in other instruments when the right player comes along. Song choices lean pop and rock with lots of room to wander, and the kids have a big say in what they play.

By hand, every time. We look at age, skill, instrument, and personality, then build a group that fits together. That's exactly why we start with a form and a conversation instead of an open signup.

It depends on what's open and who else is in the mix. Sometimes there's a spot ready right away, and sometimes we're waiting on one more player to make the group work. We'll be open and honest with you about the timeline when we talk.

Several times a year. Bands play DRMS recitals and community events around Arvada including Taste of Arvada, Second Saturdays on Olde Wadsworth, and Candelas Fest, and we're always adding more.

Band rehearsals run between $30 and $50 per session depending on how long that band rehearses, and rehearsal length depends on the age of the group. We'll go over exact pricing for your child's band when we connect.
